Our Story

Every florist has a story about loving flowers. Ours starts with a girl in Barranquilla, Colombia, who used to stand at the gift shop counters watching the ladies wrap presents and write cards by hand, who dreamed of studying graphic design until she discovered her real passion lived in interior design, and who landed in this country at fifteen, the very age Miami celebrates with quinces.
It began at a Pizza Hut, in 2003
Jessica and Nelson met working at a Pizza Hut. He courted her the old way, with bouquets of roses. She never once just put them in a vase: she took every bouquet apart and rearranged it, stem by stem, until it looked the way it did in her head. He noticed. It took years to understand what that meant.

The hard schools
First came the corporate years. Nelson, a Venezuelan immigrant and computer engineer, spent more than a decade at BellSouth; Jessica became a sales leader there, ranked in the top 5% of the company. An engineer and an elite closer: those are the two crafts that still run this florist, one behind every system and route, the other behind every client who feels taken care of.
Before flowers, there was also a restaurant in Miami Beach. Three years of the toughest school hospitality has to offer: perishable inventory, impossible hours, and guests who expect perfection nightly. It was difficult, and it taught us everything about serving people that we still use today, down to how a delivery should feel when it reaches your door.
Around the same time, we built our first home together from zero, learning as we went, with HGTV playing in the background. Design was never a department for us. It was how we lived.
A little pink shop, 2019
In January 2019 we opened My Divine Decors in Doral: a couple, a small pink storefront, and Jessica’s designs. The name says “Decors” and not just “Flowers” on purpose, because from day one we designed spaces, not just bouquets. Word spread the way it does in Miami, family by family, referral by referral.
Then the ships stopped
By 2020, cruise-line work had become part of our life. When the pandemic shut down the port, it shut down much of our world with it, and things got financially hard. What kept us going was the simplest version of this craft: get-well arrangements, made at home, sent to people who were sick. When the ships went dark, the flowers kept leaving our kitchen for the hospitals. We have never looked at a get-well order the same way since: it is the category that saved us.
Today
Today the same two people run everything: Jessica leads design, Nelson leads operations, and marketing, production, and every white glove delivery happen in-house, with our own uniformed team. The work has taken us places we could not have imagined from that Pizza Hut: floral installations aboard the largest cruise ships in the world, event work for global brands, a showcase selection at Fleurs de Villes at Bal Harbour Shops, and thousands of Miami living rooms, weddings, quinces, and hospital rooms in between.

The family behind the counter
We are a family business in the literal sense: a marriage, two boys who grew up between buckets of roses (one of them will happily give you the official tour), five dogs, one fish, and a pet friendly store where the coffee is always on. When we travel, we come back with ideas; our latest trip to Japan reshaped how we think about space, restraint, and letting one flower speak. And Jessica still writes every card by hand, the way the ladies in Barranquilla did.

Come see us
The shop is in Doral, with easy parking, and the consultation always comes with coffee. Visit or write to us, or start with the collection. We will treat your moment like it is ours, because for more than twenty years, that is exactly what these flowers have been.
