Selecting a Luxury Florist in Miami
The flowers are almost never the point. Someone is apologising, or celebrating a promotion they worked six years for, or sending something to a hospital room because they cannot get on a plane. The arrangement carries that. Which is why choosing who makes it matters more than most people expect.
Miami has hundreds of florists and a good number of order gatherers that look like florists. This is how to tell them apart, and what to ask before you hand over a moment that only happens once.
What luxury means inside the workroom
The word gets used loosely. In practice it comes down to four things you can verify.
Someone designs it, and it is not a catalogue photo. A luxury arrangement is built for the stem you have that morning. Peonies open at their own speed. A garden rose that looked right on Tuesday is spent by Friday. A studio that designs will tell you what came in fresh and build around it. A studio that only fulfils will send you the picture and hope the substitution goes unnoticed.
The mechanics are hidden. Wire, tape, foam and the armature that holds a tall piece upright should be invisible from every angle, including the back. Turn any arrangement around. That is where the shortcuts live.
The container is part of the design. A box, a hat box, a ceramic vessel or a glass vase changes the whole reading of the same flowers. Studios that treat the container as packaging rather than as structure tend to produce arrangements that photograph well from one angle and nowhere else.
The work exists outside the shop. Installations, editorial work and event styling are where a floral team is judged by people who do this for a living. We have designed twice for Fleurs de Villes at Bal Harbour Shops: the Diptyque floral doorway for ARTISTE in 2024, alongside doorways for Versace, Brunello Cucinelli and Renรฉ Caovilla built by other studios, and the Isobel Crawley mannequin for the Downton Abbey edition in 2025. That series ran across ten cities and more than 170 installations, and in 2026 it was named Global Winner for Best Integrated Partnership in Cinema. We were one of the teams that built it.
The service standards that actually separate florists
Design is half of it. The other half is whether the thing arrives, on the day it was meant to, in the state it left in. These are the specifics worth asking any Miami florist before you order.
| What to ask | Why it matters | Our answer |
|---|---|---|
| Same-day cutoff time | Most shops publish a vague “early afternoon”. The hour is the whole promise. | 4 PM Monday to Friday, 1 PM Saturday |
| Sunday delivery | Most Miami florists close Sunday entirely. | Yes, 9 AM to 1 PM, ordered by 1 PM Saturday, for a $30 fee on top of the zone rate |
| Who drives it | A courier handoff is where tall arrangements fail. | Our own drivers across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, plus Key Largo and Islamorada |
| Delivery window | “Sometime today” is not a plan for a hospital or an office. | A required time slot at checkout, in one-hour windows |
| Proof of delivery | You are usually not in the room. | A photo of the finished arrangement before it leaves, and a photo at the door |
| Where it is made | Order gatherers pass your order to a shop you never chose. | Our own studio in Doral |
If a florist cannot answer the first two from memory, they are not the ones making your arrangement.
Match the format to the occasion, not the flower
Most people start from the bloom and work outwards. It is more reliable to start from what the moment needs.
- Something that has to last. Preserved roses hold for years without water, which is why they travel well and why they suit an office, a second home or a gift that ships out of state.
- Something with a name on it. Curated gift presentations pair flowers with chocolates, a teddy bear or balloons in one delivery. We cover how to judge those in selecting handcrafted gift bouquets.
- Something a room has to hold. Installations, arches, flower walls and table work belong to event floral design, and they are quoted, not ordered.
- Something that has to arrive today. That is a logistics question first and a design question second. The detail sits on our Miami flower delivery page.
Quick answers
How do I know a Miami florist is not an order gatherer?
Ask where the arrangement is made and who delivers it. An order gatherer takes your money online and passes the order to a shop in the recipient’s area, so they cannot answer either question with an address and a name.
What is a reasonable price for a luxury arrangement in Miami?
Design work starts around $150 for a handcrafted arrangement and rises with stem count, container and structure. Large installations and rose boxes with 100 stems or more run into four figures. Price tracks labour and flower cost, not the size of the photo.
Can a luxury florist deliver the same day?
Yes, if the order lands before the cutoff. Ours is 4 PM Monday to Friday and 1 PM Saturday, across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties plus Key Largo and Islamorada.
Do luxury florists deliver on Sundays in Miami?
Most do not. We do, from 9 AM to 1 PM, when the order is placed by 1 PM Saturday, for an additional $30 on top of the zone delivery rate. The detail is on our Sunday flower delivery page.
Can I send luxury flowers to Miami from another state?
Yes. Fresh wrapped bouquets ship overnight and preserved roses ship in three to five business days. See nationwide flower delivery.
